Thermal Auricular Therapy (also known as Hopi Ear Candles) is a pleasant and non-invasive treatment of the ears, used to treat a variety of conditions.
Quite different from the conventional wax candles, a Hopi ear candle is actually a cotton tube, impregnated with beeswax, honey and therapeutic oils. It is painlessly inserted into the ear to draw out impurities relieve pressure in the head and sinuses, and aid hearing problems. It is also a safe and gentle treatment for children.
Hopi Ear Candling is not suitable for those with perforated eardrums, where grommets are in place or those who may have an allergic reaction to the ingredients.
During the treatment you lie down on your side and the ear candle is placed in the outer ear until it burns down slightly, it feels very comfortable and warm. The treatment is then repeated on the other side, and is followed by a head massage.
