Hydrotherm massage is a unique style of massage whereby the client lies on their back on two warm water cushions and remains in this position throughout. The therapist slides their hands under, over and around the client’s body in an uninterrupted motion, using the client’s body weight as a source of pressure.
The gentle heat of the water helps to sooth painful areas allowing the therapist to work more deeply with less discomfort for the client. The combination of the heat and the massage also increases the circulation and removal of toxins, and improves the efficiency of essential oils if used in aromatherapy.
It is also particularly beneficial for those unable to lie face down or turn over easily, for example pregnant, elderly, claustrophic or asthmatic clients.
