Reflexology is a complementary Therapy which works on the feet or hands enabling the body to heal itself. Following illness, stress or injury the body is in a state of "imbalance" and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium, or balance, and therefore encourage healing.
A Reflexologist uses their hands to apply pressure to the feet. For each person the application and the effect of the therapy is unique. The sensitive and trained hands of the Reflexologist can detect any imbalances or small deposits in reflex points in the feet and by working these points blockages can be released and restore the free flowing energy to the whole body.
Circulation and elimination is improved and tensions in the body are eased. This is a very gentle therapy which encourages the body to start the healing process and heal itself.
There are also reflex points and areas on the feet and hands that correspond to all the major organs, glands and body parts. Working on these points can release blockages and restore the free flow of energy to the whole body. With reflexology, the feet are a mirror of the body and therefore by working the feet, you can influence and elevate the whole body.
