Bowen: Saturday Children's Clinic

Saturday mornings 10 till 2. By appointment

Cost:
Children 5 to 14years: £20 for 30 minutes
Babies and children under 5yrs: £15 for 20 minutes

Bowen Technique is a very gentle form of hands on therapy using minimal pressure over specific points which affect our posture resulting in a release of tension, relief from pain and a more healthy and balanced way of being.

Because this technique has such a calming effect on our nervous system, Bowen is used to effectively assist in the healing of many health conditions and postural imbalances in babies and children.

Consider for Colic, Asthma, Hyperactivity, Bedwetting, IBS, Postural Imbalances, Recovery from broken bones, Stress and Headaches. And most importantly, kids love it!

Cranial Osteopathy for Young Babies

Cost:
£30 for 1hr. Booking by appointment.

Birth can be a traumatic experience for both mother and baby. During delivery the baby's head is compressed and moulded to travel through the birth canal. The bones of the head are designed to flex and overlap during this journey and many of us can bear witness to some of the resulting odd shaped heads.

After delivery the head gradually un-moulds over the next few days. However, this unmoulding process may be left incomplete, especially if the birth has been difficult. In cases such as these cranial osteopathy can be particularly effective. The osteopath can work to gently release tension in the baby's body and can often relieve discomfort.

..and for Children

Although the name suggests manipulation of the head, cranial osteopathy is a treatment of the whole body. Treatment may also involve the use of other osteopathic techniques. It is a gentle yet extremely effective approach and may be used for a wide range of conditions for people of all ages, from birth to old age. By manipulating the bones of the head and face the cranial osteopath can encourage and improve the circulation of cerebro-spinal fluid, helping the body restore itself to health.

Julie Alce DO MRO

I qualified as an osteopath 19 years ago. I studied for 4 years at the British School of Osteopathy. Since then I have worked in two unique projects in the voluntary sector. I have also worked for a GP in the NHS. I moved to Brighton about 3 years ago with my family and have built a busy practice.
